Student Opportunities Coming Up Soon!

Having a hard time getting a summer job? If you are student at the U of U, SLCC or Westminster, you can still get some great experience that will pave the way for your future! Intern at the SLCC Community Writing Center this summer!

Marketing/Public Relations interns help the center reach new people through dozens of summer events. Writing/Rhetoric interns collaborate on new programming that the center is developing. Community Leadership and Professional Communication interns apply their knowledge to capacity-building projects.

2010 Writing & Social Justice Conference: (Dis)ability

The 4th annual Conference on Writing & Social Justice presented by the Salt Lake Community College English Department will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the downtown Salt Lake City library (fourth floor conference room.)  This year's theme is "disability" and the keynote will be set by disability scholar Rosemarie Garland-Thomson:  "Rosemarie Garland-Thomson is Professor of Women's Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Her fields of study are feminist theory, American literature, and disability studies. Her scholarly and professional activities develop the field of disability studies in the humanities and in women's and gender studies."

The conference is scheduled from 9:30 until 4:30 pm.
